Hi there. My husband and I are taking a trip to WDW the first week in February 2015. For some reason, I've gotten it in my head that we should check out the entire DVC option. Not sure if it's something that can work for us, but I definitely want to see what it's all about.
Is there a way to set-up some type of tour/info session once we get there? I'm sure that there is, but in all honesty it's not something I've ever considered before so I've never really paid attention. If I'm going to invest the time during my vacation, I'd like to make it worth my while. In other words, I know that with most time-share type sessions, they offer something as an incentive to get people to attend. Does DVC do something like this? I don't mean incentives when you buy; I mean incentives for actually going to a session. (I also understand that these aren't like information sessions in the regular sense - am I correct that you sort of meet one-on-one with a guide?)
I want to be clear: I have a genuine interest in the program. My husband and I have vacationed at WDW about 10 times over the past 25 years of our marriage. We went last February for the first time on our own, and it was actually the best vacation ever! I'm now starting to think retirement, grandkids, etc. Call me crazy, but a WDW vacation every year is sounding awfully sweet! I don't want to hear about DVC just to get something from Disney. I'm just wanting to know if anything is offered (even if it's just a Mickey Pop!!!)
Also, can someone direct me to the correct board or thread where I can see discussions about the pros and cons of owning DVC?
Thanks ~
