Hi my DIS DVC friends,
We're getting ready for a trip to WDW. With the recent announcement about SW Celebration in Orlando, we're thinking that we'll be back to WDW within a year. I'd like to convert my park hopper to DVC Platinum AP, because Celebration is Easter weekend. If you have a moment, would you mind confirming my understanding of the timing and process. Please feel very welcome to correct any mis-understanding I might have. It's why I'm posting here.

Conversion from ticket to AP:
1) Determine cost of DVC AP Platinum (no interest in water parks) and current cost of 6 day park hopper. The difference is what I will pay to convert the ticket into the annual pass.
2) Conversion can be done in advance by phone or in person at guest services. Guest Services is more reliable and less error prone, so on-site guest services is preferred.
3)Start date will be upon activation at guest services. Waiting till the end of my 6 day ticket will backdate the activation of the AP to my first ticket use date. Because of MM below, it would be best to activate on my WDW arrival date.
Memory Maker/ Photopass:
1) Included with the Annual Pass. Memory maker/photopass will start immediately upon conversion of the ticket to annual pass. Because it will start immediately, it would be best to convert the ticket on my first day of arrival.
FastPass, Dining Reservation and Room Key:
1) Upon conversion of my ticket to AP, I won't lose any fastpass reservations, because they are connected to me as a person and not to my ticket. Therefore when my ticket becomes an annual pass I will not lose the pre-arranged fastpass and dining reservations.
2) My magic band sent a few weeks in advance of resort check-in will still work after conversion from ticket to AP for pre-arranged fastpass, room key access and dining reservations.
(This section is my most "iffy" understanding.)
Tables in Wonderland:
1) The 13 month "clock" starts at time of purchase. Because of this, it would be best to purchase TiW at guest services on my WDW arrival day.
