Checking into the resort & Parking ?'s

Can you please walk me through arrival, parking and check in?
I want to head straight into the park the first day, but do I need to stop by the resort first?

Do I just drive up and park?

Is parking free?

I know my room won't be ready at 8am but I want to "activate" my DDP. I'm assuming the check in does this?

I have already checked in online, what happens at the resort?

During the online check in, it said they would text me when the room is ready. Do I need to leave the park and come back to the hotel when this happens?

I'm going to have a split stay. Once the fist stay ends to I need to repeat this process to "activate" my other DDP?

Can I drive to the parks in my own vehicle?
Can I drive to other resorts for my ADR's?
Is there a parking fee for this?

If you have a package with Park Tickets and Dining, yes you have to check in first.

Do I just drive up and park?

The guard will ask for ID, or Magic Band, and will see that you have a reservation and will give you a parking pass.

Is parking free?

Yes.

Yes. You can check in as early as 6AM.

I have already checked in online, what happens at the resort?

You will provide your ID and they will give you your information packet, activate your Tickets and Dining Credits. They will show you were your room is on the resort map.

Nope.

Yes.

Just back from another stay at POR & they don't give you a parking pass anymore at the guard gate. It's given in your welcome package at the check in desk whether you do online check in or not. I've stayed onsite 6x since the start of 2014 & those included moderate & deluxe hotels. No parking passes at the gate then either.

Do I just drive up and park?

Do not park first. Drive up to Lobby, while you check-in Valet will let you leave your car there Or depending resort there will be parking near entrance for check-in parking. Once you check-in you can choose to leave your luggage in the car of have Bellman take it and hold it.

Yeah, good plan. I'll just drive up and go inside for a quick check in so we can get going to the park.
