Hi all .. we are considering changing our travel plans. We originally planned on arriving on Saturday morning around 11ish. Now, due to airfare prices, we're considering taking a late flight out Friday night instead and adding an extra night onto our reservation, meaning we would probably get to Coronado Springs around 12:30-1am .. will we be able to check in this late? I'm assuming someone is always at the front desk, just want to make sure we'd actually be able to check in!

Our experience at the resorts has been that there is someone at the front desk all night long for just your case. We have gotten in at some ungodly hours and there has always been a cheerful voice and a smile to greet us.

There is always someone at the front desk 24/7.

However, the computers roll over at 7:00 am for the day's reservations. I have done "split" stays when my first day is blacked out by the discount. I have had to go back the next day at 7:00 am when the computer rolled over to the new day.

If you don't have a reservation for Friday, I don't believe you will be able to check-in until Saturday morning.

My flight got in after midnight last year so I checked into POFQ super late. We were able to check in without a problem but we did have to fetch our own luggage at MCO before getting on ME.

eaj1228 - I also am from Seattle and will be arriving at Orlando at 11:00 p.m. (same SW plane as you?) and POFQ after midnight via ME. Will also have to get our luggage because ME does not do that for us after 10:00 p.m. I am concerned about traveling thru the airport because of the long trek to get to the ME bus. It was hard for me 3 years ago and worse now because of failing health (scooter should be waiting for me at POFQ) and I read thet curtesy carts are not available at Orlando (really!??) Also did you have to take your luggage to the room youself at POFQ because of the late time? Thanks for any help.

I am always so excited to see other Seattle area people on disboards. Last year we flew American and had a layover in Dallas. I just checked out the MCO website and it looks like MCO doesn't provide electric cart transportation :sad1:. Check out the link below for more info:

We decided to take our luggage to our room ourselves. I can't even remember if we had the option of having someone bring it to our room. It was so late we just wanted to go to bed. One of the perks of staying at POFQ is the resort is so small it doesn't feel like a trek from the buses to the room.

Hope this info is helpful. Have a magical vacation and have a beignet for me.

OP, you should be all set as long as you extend your reservation to include Friday night. When you check in your room should be waiting for you. Have a wonderful stay at CSR!

You are in luck. Porters are located near the baggage claim.

In addition, mods have 24/7 guest services, including carts to take you to and from your room with luggage. Please tip for this service.

thank you Missy and eaj for your help! Eases my mine to know what to expect. And exciting for a newbie to get personal help rather than just be a "voyeur" and quietly try to glean all the info that these boards have.
Staying at a garden room at POFQ starting April 7 12:30 A.M.(lol) for 6 nights then POR garden Royal Room for 4 nights. With the Spring Offer, was able to get the Royal rooms for less than the rooms at POFQ!!!
First time there and looking forward to the quiet, relaxing atmosphere as much as the grandkids are looking forward to the busy excitement of the parks. Planning to have beignets first morning and one of them will have eaj written all over it!

We switched our flight to a late night arrival flight as well but we weren't able to add an extra night at POFQ. We now have to go to Pop for one night and then will transfer to POFQ the next day for our vacation reservation. I should've just cancelled it and rebooked with my new dates but didn't think of it until after the free dining promo had expired.

From that link...

How do I request assistance for elderly/minor/disabled passengers?
Skycaps are available to assist passengers. Typical services include curbside check-in, carrying baggage, wheelchair assistance, etc. Please contact your particular airline to arrange for assistance from its skycaps. It is customary to tip skycaps a few dollars for service provided.

How do I request a wheelchair?
If you require a wheelchair, please contact your airline in advance and they should be able to provide a wheelchair for your use within the airport.

We checked into CSR for one night before our GF reservation. Arrived around 11:45pm. There was one person working the desk (only soul we saw anywhere). She gave us our keys, no offer of bell services, directions, etc. had to ask for a resort map to try to find our building. It's luck of the draw when you arrive late but we did finally manage to find our building and even managed a decently close parking spot.

bumbershoot, I appreciate you looking into the airport site along with eaj and missy. Looks like us Washingtonians need to look out after each other. I plan to call SW. thanks
