I will be arriving at Beach Club about 1130 AM on saturday September 18,2004

I will be staying one night, in a studio. I will then take my mother for her birthday on a DCL cruise, that will leave on Sunday September 19,2004. I think the DCL bus, will pick me up at Beach Club.

Here is my question?

I have the choice of arrivning about 1130 AM or 500 PM
I am attracted to the 1130AM arrival time, unless we have to sit around for 4 hours till our studio is available

Is this a correct statement, much better chance, getting into a studio early, than a 1 bedroom or 2 bedroom?

Thank you in advance

Rooms are not available until 4 p.m. unless you luck out. Only once in my last 4 stays at a DVC resort was my room ready before 3 p.m. I just had them hold my luggage and I went swimming or to a park in the meantime.

The chances of getting into any room early is hit and miss.

On sat August 1,2003
I checked into a 2 bedroom lock out at 1045 AM
I guess I was real lucky.
Does the saturday, help the issue quite a bit??

Did I read once, the vast majority of DVC members check in on Sundays and out on Fridays?
Pleas correct this last question, if it is not correct.

While it is probably true that many DVC members do the Sunday-Friday thing - regular (cash) WDW guests tend to rent rooms on weekends. Saturday MAY increase your chances for an early check-in - but do not plan on it. On my recent stay at OKW I asked Mousekeeping what their busiest day are, to try to re-arrange my full cleaning to a less busy day. They said Friday, Saturday and Sunday were the busiest housekeeping days.

Not sure if vast majority - many do check in Sun and leave Fri due to the points differential

I would have to say with your time of year in the somewhat quiet lull after Labour Day you have a chance at your room being ready but cannot count on it

There is so much to do at BCV whilst they hold the luggage if your room is not ready - I would say go for it and arrive early and wish for pixie dust

thanks

Being it's a Saturday in September you probably have a better chance, they will probably not be sold out. You don't have to sit around if it's not ready. You can get your keys and go to a park, I would go to Epcot since it's close. They give you a card with a phone # to check if it's ready yet.

We arrived about 1:30pm on Saturday Dec 6 at BWV, our room was not ready so we went to ESPN for lunch, when we returned to the lobby about 3:00pm it was ready. They were sold out that night and they said all rooms were preassigned.

On my last stay I checked in at 10:45 am and had my choice of 2 studios. I'd made 3 requests, and none were available that met all 3. I'd requested "courtyard". However, surprisingly, 2 were available for Epcot view, which I thought was the most desired and hard-to-get. However, I did get my other 2 requests-nonsmoking and high floor at that time. Early availability may be partially dependant on how flexible you are on your requests. I thought it was great that they let me know what was available at that time, what requests they did/did not meet so I had a choice of waiting for the exact type of room I wanted or taking what was ready then.

Why would you sit around for 4 hours? Check your bags and go to a park or have lunch and some beer on the Boardwalk. No reason you would have to sit around! We seldom get into our room early and never plan on it - on the contrary we plan on checking our bags and having them delivered later when the room is ready. We either go on to a park or DTD or have a long relaxing meal if we don't want to use a park ticket that day.

We never count on the room being ready early, and we always check in before noon. We just do our check in thing, store our luggage, and head for the parks with the call back number in hand. As it gets close to 4, we call to see if and when our room is ready. When we know our room, we head back to the resort and go do our grocery shopping. It always works out great for us. I do usually keep anything we need for the parks packed on the top of a suitcase, or in our carry-on so it is easy access.

Are you going back to WDW after the cruise? It just occured to me that you might not have park passes if you are only doing one day, and you might not have APs. I guess in that case, I would head for DTD and play there. We like to do that too.

So far we have done 5 DVC stays and only once got in before 4 PM. That one time was in a studio at BWV when we got in the room at 12:30 PM (our check in time).

For our upcoming trip in Feb,are flight gets in at 1030AM on a Saturday. We prefer a later flight, but the money saved by taking this flight was enormous!

We are going to bop into OKW just on the chance our room maybe ready, but plan on spending the afternoon at DTD.
