How much of the checkin process can my wife and son do without me there?

I will be returning our car and will probably will not get to the ship until one hour after I drop them off.

At the very least you have to present your photo ID in person.

In Feburary, DH checked in the kids and me, with our ids. I was over by the coffee shop and the kids were watching cartoons. No problem. But if he is dropping off the car, won't he need hi id to get into the terminal?

Mistake Post.

On our 4/23 cruise, I checked in without DH (He also was returning the car) I did not have his picture ID, since he needed it to get back into the terminal. I did have his Birth Certificate. I was able to check in with no problems. He did not need to go back to the counter at all. I don't know if this was new policy but I was able to do it.

We do this every time. DH drops us off at the terminal and goes to return the rental car, I check all of us in. The CM prepares his KTTW card and holds it at the counter. When he arrives he goes up the the CM and shows his ID and they hand him his card. Very easy.

Just remeber that you will need a photo-id to get into the terminal. Some CM's will give whoever is checking people in all the KTTW cards, others keep them...

In January, I was able to check in for my DH while he returned the card and was given his KTTW card.

We aren't married and I was able to check my BF in without a problem. He just needed a picture ID to get into the terminal. I wonder if this will be the same on the West Coast.
