Checking in to BLT a day late

I'm not sure where to put this question. Mods, please move it if it's not in the correct place.

Anyway, I just found out that we are going to have to arrive a day late to WDW. We rented points and are supposed to check in to BLT on 12/17 but now probably will not be there until 12/18. I know I can't modify the rental but is it okay if we arrive a day late?

If you just don’t show up I would think the whole reservation would be cancelled. I don’t understand why you couldn’t modify it by asking the owner you rented from to modify it for one day later. You’re actually using less points. You won’t get a refund but at least you would bd assured your reservation would stay in tact.

You could ask the owner to let DVC Member Services know you will check in the next day.

Just have the owner send an email or chat with DVC to make a note of your late arrival.

It won’t be a big deal.

I do online check-in and pray that my room is still there. It has been the two times we have had to do this (due to airline delays.) We do usually get in sometime early the next day though, like 5am.

As others have said, you can have the owner modify to drop a day. They’ll get some points back and be happy and you won’t have this anxiety.
