Can some clue me in on the paper work? I just read on another post you can complete your paperwork and return to your hotel (assume WDW property). Is this only if you've booked a land/sea package or can you still do this if you booked separately?

Can you tell I've never cruised before

Thanks....

The only time that we've been able to do the hotel check-in has been the one time we did a land/sea. The other 4 DCL cruises, we've checked in at the port. The paperwork is not overwhelming--small booklets for each person booked, but some of the sheets only have to be done one time.

They recommend you do all the paper work before you leave home. It will come with your documents. And if you wonder why you have do immigration paper work for the Bahamas, even though you "thought" you weren't going there.....Castaway Cay is part of the Bahamas.

Approximately how long before the cruise do DCL send documentation? We will be leaving for Orlando almost two weeks before the cruise starts.

Its going to depend on who you have booked with, if you have booked through a UK tour operator, the documents will be sent to them first and they will, hopfully in a timely fashion forward these to you. They are a reasonable size, and therefore if someone isnt in,at home, you might have to collect at the local sorting office.

I understand usually DCL sends the docs out 4 weeks before the cruise, they must understand that a lot of people will be having the cruise at the end of the vacation (holiday).

If booking through an Americian TA the docs will go through them first, If booked directly with DCL they will send to you directly.

Eeverything should be ok, however back up alternatives could be sending the docs to a WDW hotel, or even just turn up on the day with ID and booking confirmations.

Last time booking through a UK operator they turned up about 3 weeks before the cruise.

Thanks for the information. I will definitely have them all completed before leaving home...was just hoping I could turn them in before we go to the the port :) Have a great day...
