I am sharing a room with someone at the end of this month and we have the free dining plan. Due to an incident at home here, I am going to have to cut short my trip by a couple of days. She will be arriving on Tuesday, and I will be arriving on Thursday. But I have heard people say that everyone must be present at check in.

Can someone tell me if that is true? And if not, how will this work? I don't care if I don't get the meals for the first two nights but how should we do this? Should she try and check in for both of us on Tuesday? Will they let her do that? I mean we've paid for it so I don't see what difference it should make but now I am getting worried she will have problems.

No, sorry. No one can tell you now whether or not you'll be subject to what appears to be random enforcement of the stricture which appears on the room reservation confirmation, that all members of the party must be presented at check-in. My recommendation is to discuss this directly with the hotel, tomorrow. I recommend that you get whatever accommodation you're able to get from them in writing, on Disney letterhead, so that the person checking you in at your resort will know what you've been personally assured.

Well, do you know if they would at least let the first person check in and get her dining credits? If I lose mine then I guess I deal with it. I just don't want her to have any problem checking in and getting hers.

When I checked in 3 weeks ago, no one asked to see all people in the room. I just stood in line by myself and checked in.

I have never heard of needing everyone at check-in, and I've usually checked in with fewer people than in my party.

It will probably be fine, after all, if you are going soon it is a paid for DDP not a free DDP, and the rule I *think* was to cut down on phantom people in a room during free dining.

If the worst comes to the worst they will add your credits when you check in.
