We are coing in at 11pm on a Thursday night for a weekend stay at SSR. Should we stay at SSR the first night or stay at another hotel and check in Friday. We are Annual Passholders so we could stay for a discount at another park resort.

Thanks for suggestions
Judy

For just a weekend stay, I would definitely just go ahead and check into SSR that Thursday night. I'd hate to move twice for a three-four day vacation. But that's just us.

If it were a week or longer stay, I'd consider staying elsewhere on cash that night and save the points.

I agree. Our last trip to WDW & Florida, we stayed in 5 differnt hotels (not just Disney, went to visit grandma & grandpa) but moving around is awful. I don't want to do that ever again.

I agree, stay at SSR. If you were getting in late Fri and didn't want to use as many points, that would be different, but Thurs won't require nearly as many points.

I, too, hate switching resorts in the middle of a trip. However, just be warned that by checking in that late you are likely to get one of the most undesirable rooms in the resort. There are multiple reports of people checking in that late at night being assigned smoking-optional rooms or handicapped accessible rooms. If you're not worried about taking that chance, then you'll have no problem checking-in at 11pm.

we will only be staying four nights, and as my plane doesn't land til 10:45pm on thursday, we are spending that night with a friend. if we would have had to pay for a hotel, i would have come friday morning - SO not worth it to me to stay in a hotel when getting in that late

That is how I think as well. We are going down in 10 days or so for a sneak attack "mommy needs a few days off" visit since I am done with year end. Hubby wanted to leave after work on Friday, which puts us there VERY late. I would rather just slip the boys into the car on Sat morning about 5 am and get there by lunch time than spend the extra money on a night's sleep where I end up unpacking until 3 am anyway. :earseek:

If you are not staying long and not worried about points, I would not want to move again though in the OPs situation.
