We usually arrive at POR on a Saturday afternoon around 4:00. This trip (next Friday..yea!) we will be arriving at MCO about 9:30 PM, using ME to POR.
My concern is that we will not get much of a choice of rooms. We typically prefer BLDGs 34, 35, 39 (do not want/need to be close to the main bldg).
We have nonsmoking (medical need DD with smoke allergy/asthma) so I am not worried about that. Do want AB.

Anyone checked in that late recently and have any experiences to share?
Thanks!

We just got back Saturday. We arrived at POR around 11:30 pm on a Friday night (Sept 30) - we had landed around 10:20. The resort was busy and it was packed that weekend. I had requested AB building 14 on my reservation, and sure enough I was given a corner room in AB building 14.

I wish I could say other nice things about the service we received there, but that's about it. Our luggage did not arrive until 10:30 the next morning. I had called once at 8 and had to call again at 10. We got coffee left in our room by the maid about ever other day (if we were lucky) and of course there were no towel animals. ;) We did enjoy our stay. The service at POR is par for such a large resort - you just have to accept and roll with it. We did have a wonderful time and I hope you do too.

Thanks, that is good to hear. We are not overly picky about our room but do like to have a little bit of a say. We are asking to have our luggage brought to the room that night ( we know we will not be going to sleep right away) but sure hope it does get there then. This is our 6th time at POR and we always enjoy it. Can't wait!

Colorado Mom, we are from Colorado too and always end up checking in late due to the long flight and time difference. Last April we checked in at about midnight and I had wanted mansions but we got AB. The cm said those rooms are less desirable so they always go last. We got building 36 (or 39 it was one or the other). We ended up loving the AB section and enjoyed being that far out and near the quiet pool. If that cm was right then you should end up getting exactly what you want! We are flying out this Friday and taking an earlier flight, I won't know how to act arriving at WDW at 5:00 p.m.! Good luck!
