Since so many of us were wondering about the PP concierge, I thought I would post a few updates. We checked in yesterday around 2pm. There was a line at the front desk, so we did our check in at the lounge on the second floor. If you have arranged balloons or a picture, you will have to go back to the front desk at some point to pick them up. We hung around in the lounge until 3pm when our room was ready.
Beverages that are always available: coffee, tea, hot chocolate, milk, water, apple juice, Sprite, Coke, Diet Coke
Here is the menu so far:
Breakfast: Rice Krispies, Fruit Loops, Frosted Flakes, Raisin Bran, bagels, sweet rolls/muffins, fruit tray with melons, strawberries, pineapple, and orange juice
Snack: Trail mix, Goldfish Crackers, pretzels, chips, Cheetos, cookies
Dinner/happy hour...they call it something, but I can't remember what it is called: cheese tray w/Carr's crackers, vegetable try w/dip, and Uncrustables. Last night they had orange wasabi crusted shrimp and chocolate covered strawberries. The hot offering and dessert change on a daily basis, I think. I'll try to update during the week. They also offer red and white wine and beer. The concierge people told us that they only have the Uncrustables in the evening, so if you are planning on taking them into the park for lunch, grab them the evening before. We stuck them in the fridge in our room, but they don't need to be kept cold.
The lounge is quiet. You can check out DVDs to watch in your room. They also have a movie playing in the lounge at all times.
On our first night we returned to the room to find chocolate coins on the turned down beds and chocolate dipped Mickey shaped Rice Krispy treats. When we returned back to the room today at 4pm the beds had been turned down already and they left chocolate coins again.
IMO the parks are really crowded. I'm expecting it to be a little less crowded tomorrow and pretty light during the week, but I wouldn't call it high season crowds. The weather is beautiful!
I'm updating for any still reading. Monday's hot appetizer was kebobs, but they ran out and substituted quesadillas. They had macaroons again this evening, but they ran out of those, too, and substituted cookies.
