??Checking in for someone else

Has anyone ever checked in for someone else in their party??

We (DH,DS,DD) arrive the day before my Sister, BIL and Nephew. The reservations are actually in my name as I am paying for them (using Disney Visa which allows gaining of points to spend while there! and it also give the six month extended payment plan so my Sister said put it on your card!!)

So their reservation is in my name, but they of course are on the ressie and will be taking DME from the airport the day after we arrive and coming in kinda late 6pm. We were hoping to hop over to EPCOT for the end of the evening with a late dinner and I was wondering if I can check them in and get their park tickets just to speed things up. Has anyone ever done this? Also would like to pick up our HoopDeeDoo tickets, but assume I can't do that until they have checked in and have credits to deduct when picking up our tickets for the show.

Any advice or am I out of luck?

If your name is on the reservation there is no reason why you should not be able to check them in and once checked in pick up the Hoop Dee Doo Tickets

I've done this for my in-laws a couple of times. First time was when they arrived on the same day but later in the day and we were at Fort Wilderness Cabins. I got everything taken care of at the front desk, got their cabin keys, two sets of information. I like this because then the in-laws never have to get the Disney information overload at the front desk.

Second time was at All Star Music and they checked in a week after we did. I just went to the front desk and told them what I wanted to do and again, got the room keys and everything else I needed.

Both times, their reservation was in their name but my reservation was linked to theirs. Not a problem at all.

The only thing you might want to consider is to initially have them on a "pay as you go" thing with their room keys. If they want charging privileges, then they can stop by at the front desk later and add that.

Thank you so much. So are you saying that I can check them in but I would not have any credit card associated with their room keys? They may want this anyway since we are on the dining plan so the only charges may be for breakfast or souveniers. But If they do want to have charging priviledges they CAN go back and change that?

Also, What is the situation of keys and Tickets on the keys? Do you have to have that. Is that something I can do for them or do I have to go to guest relations to get the park hoppers on their keys or is that done at check in?

Sorry we have never done a package before so I am not sure how this works! Thanks for any info!

Each individual key will have or not have charging privleges. So you can just get them for adults and not the kids (as we left off that option for our granddaughter when we took her). For the in-laws, it was suggested at the front desk both times that they were excluded from the charging stuff and they could come back with their credit card information later if they wanted it.

I've actually never done the tickets on the room key thing (well, once a long, long time ago). I've gotten my in-laws tickets separately since I prebought them. But each time when I've checked them in, I've been asked if they needed park passes. If you are putting them on your credit card, there shouldn't be a problem getting this done at the resort.

If you booked a MYW package, the tickets are on the room key - one for each member of the party. Once you have those plastic cards you'll be set for everything - room, parks, dining.
