Checking in early ....

Good morning all!! Could you please tell me what the pros / cons are to early check in? This is our first time staying on site. I would think if you wanted to maybe be considered for extra upgrades you couldn't do that is pre-checked in.

It does not affect your chance of getting an upgrade. That is based completely on other factors in the resort.

If you mean online check-in, the pro is that it's usually faster/shorter line and they likely will have a room ready when you arrive (not guaranteed). The con is that requests being granted become difficult since the room assigner's priority is to get people who do online check-in into a room that will be ready when you arrive.

If you mean arriving early before check-in time, the pro is that you may have more luck getting your room request since there is more available room inventory to play with. The con is that you may have to store your bags and be "homeless" until your room is ready which may not be until 3pm.
