Checking in - different flights?

Does anyone know the answer to this? If two families are sharing one villa, but travelling on different flights, do they have to check-in at the same time? Or can those on the first flight check into their villa as soon as they arrive, and those arriving later check -in afterwards?

We had friends staying with us last year and they arrived on a different flight. We checked them in, got their room keys and they gave us a ring when they arrived to see what room number we were all in. We had no problems at all.

Yes, you only ever need one person to check in your entire party regardless of whether or not you have the same name.
