CHecking In, and when switching resorts..will they transport your luggage?

Didnt know if you could pre-check in....going to be at okw next week for 2 nitews and then to bwv for 2 nites....will they transfer luggage? Also there is a huge gap between checkout at one and checking IN at the other, anyone care to opine? thanks Mae

You can have your luggage transferred to another resort at no charge. It usually arrives in the midafternoon, around check-in time. Don't expect the luggage to be delivered to your room. You must pick it up at bell services.

We stayed at OKW May of 2000 and the last day we transferred to Coronado Springs. We had to wait for them to come get the luggage, and then when we checked in we had to wait on a very long line to check-in and it took forever to get our luggage from storage

We stayed at BWV, VWL, and OKW in September (rented points). Whenever we transferred, we had bell services take our luggage. Once we arrived at the new resort, bell services brought all of our luggage to our room. We never had our luggage later than 3. But, then again, it was after 9/11 and the resorts were very empty. They were doing everything in their power to make our stay magical, so that could have been an extra effort. But, it worked great for us.

They won't transfer bags to a cabin at FW. If this matters.

Thanks all for the info....I m sure it will work out, and though Im not staying at the FW,,,IM surprised that the rules arent the same for all the Disney resorts Mae

I believe that because there is no bell hop service at FW, they are unable to acommodate the request of transfer.

If you can check in early - sometimes (not all the time) your room will be ready - if it is I generally take my luggage with me - if it is not then I have bell services move it. I am talking 7:00 am if possible.

One other tip...

There are times, for one reason or another (crowded luggage room, busy bell services etc) that your luggage might not be in an air conditioned environment for a certain period of time. Keep that in mind during the hot weather...things such as chocolate can melt, if tossed into the suitcase for the transfer...
