We will be flying to WDW in May and will be bringing a booster seat for dd. Do I need to get a cover or will the airline put it in a bag? We are flying Southwest.
Thanks!

If you request it (and sometimes if you don't), SWA will put it in a heavy duty plastic bag. They did that the last couple of times for our stroller.

We took DS's high back booster with us on SWA. We put our name and address on the bottom on a piece of duct tape, and they wrapped it in a giant heavy duty plastic bag. We had to sign saying we would not hold them responsible for any damage, but it came through both trips without a hitch.

We've never flown SW, but we have checked our car seats/booster seats for a number of flights and usually everything's been fine. If you have any cupholders that can be detached, it's probably best to do so. We ended up losing one on a trip. Otherwise, they've always come through in great shape.

We stuck address labels to the bottom of each seat for identification.

We have flown a number of times and checked my kids car seats. What we have done is just repacked them in the original box and taped it up pretty good. Now that the TSA is opening some luggage, I assume that they may open it up but they should retape it back closed when they are done searching it (if they have to after scanning it.)

We have checked high backed booster seat many times on DL and AA. We never wrapped it, up and it always comes thru fine. I would not worry about it.
