Checkin MLK day?

not sure if I should post this here or on resorts?

Planning our trip for January 2016. Wondering if trying to checkin on the Monday of MLK day is crazy or not? Would we be better to wait and come the next day, the Tues?

I realize the crowds in parks will be crazy on weekend but we wouldn't go to the parks till Tuesday anyway but we would be driving down and would like to arrive Monday if it would work.

Curious what you experts think?

I wouldn't expect that check in on MLK day would be an issue at all. Anybody that is going because of a long-weekend type of holiday would have arrived on Friday or Saturday.

I don't think MLK day has a significant impact at WDW. Like the previous poster said if people were traveling for the long weekend they would probably be leaving on the Monday. If you are not planning to go to the parks until Tuesday anyway there shouldn't be any problem at all going on the Monday. Cheers!

Thanks so much OKW lover! That's what I was hoping to hear! Do u think then arriving Sunday might work? Or just wait till mon?

Thanks wdwjeff! Phew, fears of chaotic checkin relieved! we will have been driving straight through 21 plus hours and just didn't want to add to headache.
If most leave Monday then I think we will arrive then.
