Checked luggage and got NWA seats at BCV-for free?

Whats up with this? I just asked (last Friday after the scare) a guy at the BC express counter how backed up the lines were at MCO and he said kind of long but offered to tag /take our bags and get our boarding passes. All we did was jump in the rental car and show up for the flight.

How did I not know this before, it was awesome.

NWA was not one of the original participating airlines but was added a few months back. We used this service in April and agree it is fabulous. No more hassles with luggage as you return a rental car or even loading luggage into the rental car for the trip back to MCO!

While the service is free, those are not Disney employees and I think they are considered tipped positions just like airport skycaps so I always give them a few bucks per bag.

Oh we tipped them, I just meant the service like valet, but what a great deal.

Out of curiosity, what airlines are included in this service through WDW? I saw the counter at OKW when we were there in March but didn't need it as we drove. We will be flying for our New Year's trip and might take advantage of this. TIA! :thumbsup2

I thought there was a blurb in the Orlando paper about USAir being added. Does anyone know if they were officially added?

It is AWESOME!!! We used this at the Beach Club (flying JetBlue). It was wonderful to go directly through security and to the gate. These are the same people that would check your luggage at the airport.

I've definitely been away from the boards too long... Is this part of Magical Express or a separate service? Sounds great

I noticed our boarding passes from BCV did say "Disneys Magical Express" on them even though we did not ride the bus or schedule any of this. Is it a service for anyone at the resort?

I will never haul the bags to the airport again if this is an option and always get out boarding passes ahead as well. :thumbsup2

Actually, when we were there last time, checking back in, the CMs commented on the fact that anyone can use the resort check-in for the return flight and that lots of people didn't know that (I know I didn't). For example, once DH had a rental car, going back to the airport with DMIL, who was on a different airline. They both could have checked in at the desk at the resort and the return would have been much easier (no lugging luggage at the airport-especially since both had golf clubs). Remember that next time!

Oh, this would be a dream come true for my December vacation...
(subscribing to hear if this is reality) :surfweb:

If it is separate from ME, how does it work? Is it just for luggage only? So, if I rent a car from the airport, I could have this service pick up my luggage and deliver it to my hotel? How do I sign up?

Im not sure about DME, but we had the BC print out our boarding passes for SW flight, i think we went down around 9pm and had no problem. OK, DH went down :rotfl: i was still working on the horriable bed & pull out couch problem,
and not to mention i started calling the front desk, the housekeeping and the mainenance on our second day stay at the BCV about the broken bed & bad mattress on the pull out couch. Finally a mainenance man came up on the morning of our departing, I told him it was to late and he had to wait until we left at 11am to check the bed out.

so if your staying in room 470 in the BCV's, sorry i tried to get the bed fixed
and get a mattress or foam egg carton mattress( which that is what housekeeping calls it) .

last christmas i did get the couch replaced, since we could not get it open, the mainenance man couldnt get it open either, so they replaced it about 11:30 pm . sorry i dont remember what room # that was in but it was a studio at the BCV's.

I should start a new thread, :lmao: What's worst a dumpster view or a horriable bed ? Post your Resort & Room # for your dumpster bed or couch :teeth:

Sorry, but this is only hotel-to-airport, not the other direction. Basically, it is a remote airline check-in.

when you book your ressies thru MS you let them know then if you are riding the DME from the airport to the Disney resort (only). Then MS will send you luggage tags for your luggage. when you get to the airport you check in and tell them your on the disney magic express.
when you get to the mco airport you go down stairs and check in with DME
you then get on the bus. DME will get your luggage. You cannot not transfer luggage only, you have to be using (getting on the bus) the DME to get to the disney resort.

when leaving the disney resort you drop your luggage off the night before at check in in the resort and DME will transfer your luggage to the airport.
all you have to do is get on the bus the next day to go to the airport.

Clarification: DME and the airport check-in at the resort are 2 separate services. If you ride the DME bus your luggage will be transferred on the bus with you to and from the resort. If you rent a car you cannot just have DME take care of your luggage to and/or from the airport. You must ride the bus with the luggage.
Airline check-in service is separate. It is one way only, resort to airport. It does NOT require you to ride the DME bus. It is just like using curbside check-in at the airport. Bring your luggage to the check-in area, get your boarding passes. Then just drive to the airport, get rid of the rental car and go to the gate. For those of us who rent a car it is a wonderful service. If you are looking to rent a car and still want Disney to take care of your luggage from the airport to the resort you will need to have someone in your party ride the DME bus to the resort with the luggage.

Are there only certain airlines that offer this service, where you check your luggage in at guest services from resort to the airport? Where do I find out more about this service? Is it on the Disney website?
