I just checked the timetables on usairways.com and my return flight from Orlando is not listed. Does this mean it has been cancelled? I called the other day and was told it is still in operation, but now I'm starting to think it's not. I emailed usairways to find out. What do you think I should do? Thanks!

After reading your post, I checked on usairways.com under existing reservations. Our flights home were canceled. They rebooked us, but I don't want to come home a 1/2 hour earlier! Do I have any options?

Sorry Cali--1/2 hour is nothing, you don't have a leg to stand on. Flights are often juggeld by that much or more on the regular schedule. 1/2 hour doens't invoke Rule 240, it doens't invoke anything. In my opinion, with the way things have been lately, you're luky it was only 1/2 an hour. That's nothing in the big picture.

I was unable to find my flights yesterday on the internet so I called US Airways. They had re-booked us on another flight but I wanted to connect in another city. The rep changed all the flights for me without any problem for trips in December and March. She was very nice. I tried to be patient and polite and it worked out fine. I even had her find seats together and told her this would help since I am scared to fly.
Hope this helps.

Say they would cancel my current flight (the one I was rebooked on), and put me on a flight 1 hour earlier (a total of 1.5 hours earlier than my origional flight) would I have anything there? I'm not looking forward to yet a longer layover! (the next leg was canceled also, and we were rebooked on a later flight!)

Maybe I should look into driving! LOL :D Forget all the hassles with the airport. :)

We were scheduled to fly n/s ALB-MCO via Metrojet - 12/1-8 and after all of the rumblings about USAir and Metrojet, we've been calling every week to check our on our flights.
When my DH called last Wed. to check the status of both, he was assured that NOTHING would be changing with Metrojet in Albany until AFTER the 1st of the year. I checked USAir's website daily and everything was in order on Saturday. Imagine my surprise yesterday (Sun) when I saw that our return flight was canceled and replace with a connecting flight thru PHL. While the times were off by about an hour (earlier) we only had 33 minutes to make a connecting flight (the last one to ALB).
When we called them today (after almost 1hr on hold), we asked if they could guarantee our flight on 12/1. The 1st person said 'yes-absolutely'. We didn't feel comfortable with his enthusiasm, so we asked for a refund and he gave us someone else to speak to. The 2nd person said 'no', they couldn't guarantee 12/1 that it looked like more changes were due to come sooner than expected. We asked for a full refund and she said no problem and told us what to do.
We have now rescheduled on Southwest for $52. less (total for 4 tix) . While we ordered our tix on-line last March, my S-i-L went thru a travel agent and was called 1st thing this morning. They also re-booked on Southwest today - now the only direct carrier ALB-MCO.
Go ahead and try to call them and see what they say. It can't hurt. Good luck.:jester:

US airways is a mess! They juggled our flights all over the place last week. They cancelled them then rebooked us and cancelled again.........it was a viscious circle. But in the end they did pull through. We booked thru priceline back in April for our Oct. trip. $99 round trip (1 connection in Charlotte) from Newark to MCO. When I first found out our flight was cancelled I panicked. I figured they wouldn't help a "priceline" ticket holder. But I was wrong. As long as you ask NICELY the US airway people can be VERY accomodating. My dh got a little snippy with one of the reps and she basically told him tough *!%* call priceline! and hung up on him. I called right back, spoke nice and sweet and they rebooked us on delta non stop. The same with out return flight. We were supposed to leave at 9:45am.....they rescheduled the flight for 6:55am! NO WAY! So, once again we called and kissed some airline butt and got an 11:15am flight. All in all, flying wasn't too bad. Ticket lines were LONG! but they did let those flying within 45 minutes go to the front of the lines.
Sorry so long.

CaliforniaDreaming,

you cannot always listen to what is written on these boards. If the flight # you were originally scheduled on was cancelled, and you were put on another flight, even if it is within 2 hours of your original flight, they will most likely do anything they can to accomodate you if possible. (At least Delta did with me - just call them.)

Well I called USAirways and my return flight was indeed cancelled. They put me on a flight 3 hours earlier and that's fine with me b/c now I'll get home by 9pm and I won't be so exhausted at work the next day. And it was the only flight that was straight through. I hate to fly, so if I can go straight through, that is much better for me!

We leave on Saturday from PHL to Tampa. I called USAir yesterday & spoke to a rep. She confirmed all our flights. Today, I checked the website & the departing flight shows "unconfirmed". I panicked, but called again & did the automated check & it still says all our flights are confirmed. Do you think they are cancelling this flight & it just hasn't caught up with the automated system yet? Last week on the website, the flight was listed as "sold out". Any help would be appreciated.
