I have several transactions that have never cleared my bank account. One is an ATM withdrawal from 12/30/2001 for $60.00 for which I have the receipt. The others are on-line payments - two from 4/2002, 1 from 10/2002.

I use Quicken to balance my account and I balance to the penny every month but I am not sure about what to do about these debits. They are definitely not duplicate entries and the on-line payments were credited to the account I was paying.

Has anyone had this happen and what did you do?

The first thing I would do is call my husband, because more than likely, he forgot to give me a receipt. This JUST happened TODAY.  MEN!

Well my DH rarely gives me receipts. I have to dig through his wallet:eek: . Thank goodness for duplicate checks - they have saved our marriage;)

The problem is I have the receipts and they have been recorded in my checkbook but they have never cleared the bank:confused:

I have had that happen with a check I wrote to WalMart, of all places. Took over 2 months for it to finally clear. I don't know if they just forgot to make a deposit for that particular day or what. It was weird. I would contact my bank and ask what you should do. Chances are it cleared and maybe they forgot to do the correct transaction or something.

Good question! I have a check that hasn't cleared from May. The bill is paid because I double checked (dentist office). The check hasn't cleared my account (had them check). How long do I have to wait to clear up this debit. The bank didn't give me an answer when I asked. They told me to check with the dentist which I had already done. I'm in limbo!!

I've been using on-line banking for years. :D

I would "write-off" the $60 cash withdrawl from 2001 and buy another Xmas gift:) :) .

As for the two on-line payments, I would check with both creditors. They may have received the checks but subsequently lost or misplaced them. Both checks should have cleared.......if they were CASHED:D :D . I usually write them off as well though have occasionally seen them clear months later.
