Went to cancel and rebook a car rental today, and noticed the rental I had made Aug 30 for $620 had jumped $642 when I went to cancel it. Looks like MCO raised the customer facility fees as of Nov 1 and that does get passed on to the consumer!

Looks like they are going to move all the rental cars to a new garage facility near terminal C? Will require a shuttle and open by 2032.

That new consolidated rental facility going to add a lot of frustration to those flying in. Especially as it will be down by terminal C so people will be hauling their luggage onto some kind of shuttle to get there.

It's unfortunate, but I understand the point. Locals being able to park to fly out is more important than rentals. And many airports have gone to this, some done well, some not so well.

That's not unusual at various airports, and not necessarily large ones.

People flying out, many airports, elect long term parking. Long term parking might require a shuttle.

A consolidated rental facility is a plus for the agencies. One location instead of 3. Staff savings. All the cars in one location is more efficient

That concept is one of the things I like if I'm in Vegas and have to rent a car...you shuttle to the rental car center off the airport.

I have used shuttle trains in other locations, but I much prefer being able to just walk across the street at MCO. Can't beat that for convenience, IMO.

The article said they may have a place to check your bags when returning the car, but that won't help when picking one up. I rarely have much luggage so it won't bother me in that respect.

I envision this being an extreme inconvenience for families with small children. Hauling luggage and stroller for a family of 4 onto a shuttle then unloading to get the car? No thank you! We would be seeking alternative transportation.

I miss the Magical Express more and more.

Well, another option, assuming you have another responsible adult traveling with you... collect the bags. 2nd adult and kids find somewhere near a door to chill. 1st adult goes to get the car, then drives back and picks everyone up.

I get the MCO, multiple pickup locations is convenient, but shuttles to rental sites is really not unusual. Tens of thousands of people use them every day, including families with children.

Regardless, it is still a huge inconvenience, YMMV.
