@MissMet, at this point, I agree that's the right thing to do. There's so much inconsistency with the CM's you get on the phone & you can never know exactly what it is they're doing, because many times they don't know either. Not that it can't be messed up in person also, but at least you're right there in front of them & they can always get a manager then. I really hope they get it all sorted out for you, or at the very least give you some "anytime" FP's to make up for those that have been lost in the system.
This is my first time going since they've started the new system & MB's. I had heard a lot before about all the problems, but figured by now they'd have worked them out, especially since they've essentially got tens of thousands of people putting it to the test every day. While I appreciate what they're trying to do & streamline things, etc., at a certain point it just becomes such a chore, it sucks all the magic right out of it. And I wouldn't be at all surprised if their efforts to maximize efficiency & scheduling back-fires, to some extent at least, in the long-run. Rather than encouraging people to plan ahead, I think more people may take the opposite route, instead of trying to navigate such a "buggy" system & be frustrated.
As my parents said, if it had been this complicated back when they first took us as kids, 35+ years ago, they never would've come back. I think all the technology associated with it (not to mention needing to know where you want to eat or ride months in advance), makes it very overwhelming for a lot of people & that's before you throw all the system glitches into the mix. No one should be as stressed as you have been before you even leave for the trip. It won't keep us from going, but it definitely changes a person's attitude & approach to the whole process. Maybe you need to schedule a spa day before you even leave?!?
