I heard there are plans to open a Disneyland in Beijing. Wonder what would happen then?! There is already a DL Hongkong, is that too far?

This is the Japanese rip off that is even older. On August 31, 2006, Nara Dreamland closed permanently and was opened in 1961.

Because of low attendance at DLHK, Disney has been exploring options to build a park in Shanghai, I don't believe in Beijing, but nothing has been confirmed nor denied.

Shijingshan has been around for a while. I remember there was a firestorm brewing in the States because of copyright issues. All Disney/Dreamworks and any other copyrighted characters/themes were pulled after the Japanese news reports. They also pulled their little slogan: "DL is too far away, come here instead". They denied it had anything to do with Disney, although the park president even mentioned how "powerful Disney's lawyers were".
