Check the interactive wands!

DS bought an interactive wand today. Tried it for a moment at diagon, didn't seem to do much and we thought the scenes to reset or whatever. Took the Express to hogsmeade and he tried some more. It just was not working!

Went to Hogsmeade Ollivanders's and asked the TM. Yep, it was a plain wand in an interactive wand's box. After a few questions to make sure we weren't being sneaky, the TM got a manager. We had the receipt from just about two hours before, and they replaced the wand for us. Whew.

So check that the wand is the right one before you go!

That seems like an odd mistake in the store - I'm presuming the plain wands and interactives are manufactured separately, and arrive at the store already boxed. I suspect some unscrupulous person bought a plain wand and an interactive, and put the plain wand in the interactive box and returned it to scam Universal for a whopping $15.

I suspect it too.

The boxes are slightly different. But the wands look nearly the same until you take them out.

Interestingly, the interactive wand is lighter than the plain wand.

The interactive wands have a little bulb at the tip, always a good thing to double check your purchases!
