OMG, my friend entered this "husband calling contest" where we live (anyone from SW PA know about Rain Day?) and I recorded her.

I laughed myself to tears! Unfortunately, she didn't win the contest because they were looking for volume over creativity, but she ended up being in the newspaper AND was talked about on ESPN Radio!

I couldn't either. I tried several times too. It was too fast and too much "other noise".

Bear in mind that my friend is the sweetest and quietest person I've ever met. I couldn't believe she got up there and did that!

The women who won first and second prize basically shouted into the microphone, "I hate you! I hate your guts! I hate you!" over and over. But they won because they were loud. Oh well. She's the one who had the audience laughing their butts off!

ETA: I wonder if there's a way to clean up the noise on that video so she can be heard better. It is hysterical.

Oh yeah, you could understand her just fine in person. I think it was just my video that made it sound too harsh to hear. The judges were cracking up! We just didn't know that they judged based on volume.

Must be the SW part that threw people off. We can sort of sound like rednecks from our neck of the woods.

I just talked to the guy who was emceeing and he said they were talking about revising the contest rules because of my friend.
