Check-out Day

DD's last day is May 13th. I am going to fly to Orlando and drive back home with her so she will not have to make the 12 hour drive alone. Does anyone know the procedure for the last day. Will she be finished early enough for us to actually begin the drive on the 13th? Will we need to get a room and start driving the next morning? She has NO clue! I am not sure how Disney communicates with the CPs but my DD must be "out of the loop". She never knows what is going on! Any info would be appreciated!

The check out day means that she drops off her keys and id and costumes at the clubhouse of her apartment complex, and then leaves. I started the first leg of my 20-hour drive that morning that I checked out, and was on the road by 9am, I believe. I think you have to be checked out by 12.

On my check out date they told us to be out be a certain time. I think it was 10 or 11 am . She shouldn't be working the day before so that she can do the real serious last minutes packing, although it takes longer than expected so tell her to start packing things early. Otherwise she'll end up like me who was scrambling, last one out ( because I too was driving and not flying out) and I was "late" checking out. I say "late" because he housing people didn't come knocking at my door or anything and I bet could have taken more time in the apt.

My checkout was January 7th. I was home at 10 PM on the 5th.

The 5th was my last scheduled day, I got off at 3:30. I had already packed up most of my car so I just finished the packing up, did a swing by Epcot to say bye to some people and hit the road, I was home by 10.

I went to the clubhouse (Patterson) and they gave me a little envelope to put my housing ID, Key and parking Decal in. If the office was closed when I was leaving (it was) I could hand it in to security on my way out. (which I did)
