Typically, before we check out of a 1-bedroom we wash all
soiled dishes, glassware, etc in the dishwasher. Then go ahead
and put them back away.

Question is..... does housekeeping have to re-wash all the kitchenware
anyway for sanitary reasons ?
:pug:

I do not think that they wash everything in the kitchen. Think of how many loads it would take to do dishes, glasses, utensils, pots and pans, etc. I don't even think I would WANT time to be used to do this, since it would increase costs and wait times for checkin. I know that I have read on these boards that everything is washed, but I still don't believe it. Maybe they CHECK everything and wash anything that looks dirty.

Oooh, good question. I hadn't really thought about it. I wonder too.... :confused3

My guess is that they don't bother with anything that's put away... were I in housekeeping, I would assume the next guest would probably want to wash the items before they use them anyway...

That said, we load the dishwasher and start it just before we walk out on our last day, hoping that helps housekeeping...

I dont think MK rewashes anything either.

If you look at that inventory sheet taped inside the cabinet door it has a disclaimer at the bottom that states the Villas are exempt from commercial sanitary requirements.

We just wash/rinse before use.

I'm not sure what housekeeping does...would like to know though...in any case, on our trip in December, I had dirty dishes for the last day...loaded the dishwasher and turned it on before we left...I also left a note for housekeeping saying the dishes in the dishwaser were clean. I'm not a clean freak, but when I grab the dishes from the cupboard and notice anything icky...they go to the dishwasher...if it looks fine, then we use them.

WE do the same thing, except ypou are nicer than me, we just start the dishwasher and head out. Having said that we have always found dirty items in the kitchen, just pop them in the dishwasher :cool1:

We always run dishwasher too. I try not to leave a mess, but I'm sure some people trash the place.

I agree that I don't think they wash ALL the dishes between guests, but assume that the dishes in the cupboard have been put away clean. I do know that they run the dishwasher anyway. We started a dishwasher load on our full cleaning day last week, and when we returned later in the day, we found that housekeeping had run the dishwasher again, recleaning the same dishes but adding the coffee pot too.
