Made ressie for 2 adults & 2 kids today...total was $142.13. Now that I'm looking at allears.net, that doesn't seem right. 2 @ 34.99 + 2 @23.99 + 6.5% tax = $125.63. At first, I was thinking maybe they added the tip, but that wouldn't even be 15%, let alone 18%. Is there something I'm not thinking about?

A gratuity is included in your total price. You can always call back and verify the composition of that total. Maybe they assigned the price for one of your kids wrong?

Are you going during "holiday" pricing?? That usually adds $4 per adult and two or three dollars per child?

I don't know for sure- we are going the first week of March, which is the peak season. Is that considered "holiday"?

If it includes the tip, I guess that explains it.

We're going to CRT on 2/24/09 and the cost per adult is around $42.50 and $28.70 per child - they added a gratuity to the price you have. I didn't make the ADR myself (my SIL did), but that's what she was charged per adult.

price is for the included photograph. Tax is charged on that but gratuity is not.

Schmoop - probably a good idea to call them back to verify - some conflicting info here. But again, we just booked last week and they said gratuity was included in the $42.50 per adult.

pulling out $6.50 for the photo package from each meal using 6.5% tax on all items and 18% gratuity
on the cost minus the photopackage (the photo price is from memory) and came up with $142.18. It seems right to me. I didn't have time to do this earlier.

Mine came to $155 for 3 adults and 1 child. Well, one child is 12 so hes an adult (dont they just love being considered and adult lol). We are not going during a holiday. So your calculation seems correct.
My hurdle was telling my DH I spent $155 on a breakfast :lmao:

Quick question I did not realize that the price included tip. So if you are using the dining plan. Do you need to tip or is it considered included.

;) No kidding. I told DH I got the ressie I wanted, but I haven't told him how much it costs!

I will call to double check the charges, but that's good news that it probably includes the tip. Thanks for everyone's help!

Wow - calculating 4 adults for dinner at CRT and using DDP during Easter weeks still sounds like a good deal with the prices listed.

adding the $4 per adult would bring the pice to $46.00.
Then the tax of 6.5% brings the cost to $50.05 per adult.

Our OOP would be then $200.02 - well worth the 2 TS

DDP cost about $40/day
Break down of a typical DDP if we do CS at Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe
Snack $2.50
CS $16.50
TS $21

So 2 TS @ $42 is less than $50.05 for Cindy adult dinner.

It depends on what other choices you make. You could do two other character meals (say CP and CM) for $29 and $30 for those same two credits and get a value of $59.

Alternatively, if you go to CRT for two credits and then have to pay OOP for some other restaurant (e.g. Raglan Road where you get a pop, the Lemon Sole and Bread Pudding totaling ~$41). In that case, that extra credit only saved you from paying an extra $10 and would have been better used paying for RR and plus one whole other meal.

Pretty much, when it comes to two-credit meals, you're very well served to see how much you're going to spend everywhere and see if that's the best use of your credits. My guess is that it often turns out that you're better off using two credits for two meals and paying OOP for the signature restaurant if that's how you're going to end up eating.

But if your going to CRT doesn't mean paying OOP for another TS meal, then it might well be just as well to spend the two credits on it.

Sorry about the hijack! I'm a bored math student and this made me want to play with some numbers just to see how they came out. I also want to encourage people to do the same thing and make sure that they're using their allotments as best they can.

Quick question I did not realize that the price included tip. So if you are using the dining plan. Do you need to tip or is it considered included.

No, the tip was not included anywhere we ate. We paid that in cash. The receipt did give a breakdown for tip for 18 and 20% so we didn't need to do the math.

Im pretty sure you dont need to pay the tip at CRT as its included in the cost along with taxes. CRT and the dinner shows are the only restaurants that do that.

When I booked our ADR for CRT I was told the tip was included with DP.
