Hullo,

Me and my friends are going to DC on the 14th feb. I would really like an early swim time, so what time would you reccommend getting to the park?

I know you can check in before the actual park opens at 8, but do I need to get there before the park opens? Or just before check in opens?

Also, if we checked in at say 8:00 and the main park doesnt open until 9:30, what do you do inbetween that time? Can you go in and get breakfast, or do you just have to wait around?

:goodvibes

Many Thanks

Keep in mind that this was in August, so it was very busy, but....
We arrived about 7:50 and got in line. Checked in about 8:10. Our swim time was 9:25. During that time we went and got a locker and our vests and then had breakfast, used the restrooms and applied the sunscreen that they give you. :)

sha sha - I think that's smart.

If you are there at 8 (or soon after)in February you shouldn't have any difficulty getting a morning swim. Then it takes a while to put on a wetsuit (you will want one in feb - only the lazy river is warm, the coral reef, stingray lagoon, and the dolphin lagoons are COLD). If you still have time after staking out your spot, you can have breakfast - it is continental - pastries, fruit, etc.
