Dear DCP experts, I wonder if someone would be kind enough to help me.
My daughter is set to check in for the program on Wednesday, and will be checking in with 3 other girls who all want to share and who met online.
3 of them (including DD) are staying right nearby at a hotel, and could easily be there early (like everyone else seems to be planning), but DD says that first they will all have to go pick up roomie #4 from the airport where she is flying in from the midwest.
Problem is, she does not land until 7am and by the time she collects her bags and they all check in, I have a feeling that they will be near the last in line. Plus what if the flight is delayed?
I want the girls to be able to get their choice of apartment etc and not be last in line. DD says that she was told that all 4 girls must be present if they want to room together. Is this true, or can one or two girls get in line and just request the others by name? I am so confused and there is noone official to ask things like this. Thanks

The girls should match themselves up through the roommate notification (if it's still open). It's set up for twos, so they'll be in two seperate groups. Then go through with the three of them and the fourth will automatically get added to the room even if she's not there.

I have another check in question that I thought I would just throw in here instead of starting another thread.

My Mom is going to be driving down with me to help move me in and then flying back up to Michigan (isn't she awesome?). My question is, is there a spot where family members go while the CPers check in, fill out the paper work and all that jazz?

they have a parents/family tent for her, but you'll be checking in for a few hours (I got there around seven and it still took four hours). if you're staying at a hotel the night before, she might be happier staying there, or she could go do something free like walk around downtown disney!

We will be staying at a hotel the night before, and I hadn't thought about DTD before.

So check in is between 9-Noon, but I have been reading that people start lining up at 6am? Is that really necessary? I'm checking in on the 30th, which is one of the last check in days.

I lined up around 7:20 and there was already more than 50 people in front of me. By the time it got to the people diectly behind me they were out of two bedrooms at Chatham for that check in date. People line up early to try and get exactly what they want. If you want a certain place, then yes getting early is necessary.

I got in line at 6:45 (I REALLY wanted a 1BR) and there was 40 people or so in front of me. I did get what I wanted, but was told I got the last 1 BR in Patterson (my first choice)

Hmm I guess its a good thing I don't care what I get then! As long as it isn't the 8 person apartment I'm fine!

There were people that checked in at 10:30 that only could get a 4 BR. Even though they say that check in begins at 9, they seem to always let in at 8, if not earlier (mine was 7:55, I think someone who checked in on the 9th said it was 7:45 for them)
