You should be fine. You can also leave your luggage with Bell Services to hold until you come back to the room. If your room isn't ready (it might but probably not), you'll be given a phone number to call and get your room number. You won't have to go back to the front desk after your initial check in. I usually call shortly after noon to see if the room is available yet. If not, just call back later.
One note - make sure you get a resort map before you leave the front desk. Then carry that with you so you know where your room is located. We once didn't do that and when we returned had no idea where to park the car without driving around for a bit.
