Hey all,
Our first tip as DVC owners is coming up and I had a few more questions. We have tickets for MVMCP the day we arrive and I know we can get into MK with them at 4. My worry is that I know check in is at 4 and I will also have a delivery from garden grocer to worry about. Our flight gets into Orlando around 10:30 I think and If I remember correctly we should be to WDW by lunch time. I know the week we are coming is prime DVC travel time so I imagine we will not get our room before that right?
Any suggestions?

You can have bell services store your food if the room isn't ready.

More and more members are booking a day early to guarantee room ready on their actual day of arrival.

We never schedule anything on our travel day other than a meal close to the resort, you never know if there might be delays. We check in, set up the nest, eat and rest.

I have a stay coming up in three weeks. I arrive at MCO around 10:30, so I figure I'll be checking in at BWVs by noon. If my room isn't ready, I'll just leave my carry on bag with Bell Services and head to a park. If I do a grocery order, they will just hold it until I get into my room..

I agree with Bill. I think that is a very full first day. I find travel day very tiring as we are up early for an early flight. I personally would never book a ticketed event on travel day. There are so many possible delays that are out of your control. We usually check in and if our room isn't ready (BCV) we head to Epcot for a few hours. Then we head back late afternoon when our room is available, get our groceries and unpack and settle in. We usually head to an nice dinner ADR and then make it an early night so we are raring to go for the week.
At any rate, you are correct. Your room will most likely not be ready. But as others have said, Bell Services can store your Garden Grocer order. They will refrigerate/freeze items as necessary. Once you are back in your room you can call down and have it, and any carry ons delivered to your Villa.
Are you planning on staying at the party until the end at 12 MN? I don't know how late Bell Services is available to deliver. Hopefully someone will know.

Just to be clear, I think that most food deliveries require that you be there to accept the order. This may have changed depending if the vendor is a paid Disney partner and/or if you are have booze delivered.

Unless they have recently changed the rules I have never had to be there for delivery. We get Garden Grocer delivered and where just there in June.

Thank you everyone! When we come to WDW the Christmas party is typically on our first night. We will play it by ear on how late we stay and we typically sleep in a little bit the next morning. That being said I wonder if I am better off having the groceries delivered the day after we arrive. That or hit the Christmas party a little late. I can't wait!!!
