I was just able to enter using Chrome. Explorer still redirects, though. Weird, but then again it is a Disney website...![]()
I read this on another thread too, what's up with the "skill testing" math question? That's so bizarre. What if you answer incorrectly, do you forfeit your prize
? Is this standard of all Canadian contests or just these Disney ones?
It's a legal requirement with Canadian contests. I think they can't just give something away. No clue what happens if you don't answer correctly though. And no, this isn't just for Disney contests...it's for every prize won by Canadians, even if you won free food from McDonald's.
Yup that's the truth. At McDonalds during the Monopoly game I had to answer the skill testing question (lol) in order to claim my free muffin.
I got the 2012 Disney Planning DVD in the mail today. I'd rather see the FEDEX truck though!!!![]()
disney.go.com/memories is currently redirecting me to http://disney.go.com/xd/kickbuttowski/
I can't enter... Anyone else?
Canadians don't normally get taxed on winnings. We have to answer a "skill testing" math question in order to claim the prize instead.

Happy Birthday!!
Speaking of birthdays, hubby & I decided that if we did win one of these trips - we would use it for our daughter's 13th birthday this year. She is SO excited about becoming a teenager. She & I will go, and she can invite 2 friends. Then we'll pay seperately for my husband & son to come along.
Unfortunately, she'd only be able to bring one friend- and that friend's mother or father! One of the rules says that an minor on the trip must be accompanied by a parent. We're a family of three, and my daughter was sad to read that if we won, we'd have to bring an adult as our 4th!
Good luck to you!![]()
I came home about an hour ago with a Fed Ex tag on my door. I was immediately excited because I haven't ordered anything. Entering the tracking number, it shows this came from Quebec, so I was deflated. No idea what I could be getting from Canada.
is the 2012 dvd any different than the 2011 one? I thought about ordering one but only if it is different![]()
I'm confused then. I am the adult that would be accompanying minors. Or do you mean there's something specifically in the rules that state a non-relative minor would have to have their own parent accompany them? That seems like a silly thing. I would think all I would need is a letter of permission or something from the child's parents. Hmm.. I'll have to take a look at the rules later.
Of course, this is still daydreaming on my part. Need to win first!
Looked at the rules and it says minor must be accompanied by his/her parent/legal guardian. I do think Disney would not mind as long as there is written permission from the other child(ren) parent(s).
But in any case, if we were so lucky, then our family of 4 would take the trip and we would pay for the 2 girls to come with us. Whether we pay for the 2 girls or my husband & son - it works out the same. Thanks for the heads-up!
