I wonder if they'd let you check out on a blackout date? Guess I'll have to ask when I get my letter.

I'm just guessing from my years working in a major hotel on the Las Vegas Strip, that you could check out on a black out day. Black outs are for arrivals, not departures.

I've been sending in my entry every day by cell, and sending in my husband's by on-line (with his permission, of course!).

I am leaving with two friends of mine on Saturday to go to WDW, so my husband will be on his own for his entry. Would it be too obnoxious for me to leave a GIANT sign over the TV, on the refrigerator, inside the diaper box and over the sinks in all the bathrooms reminding him to enter? I've already got my daughter set to remind him.

I'm just saying, Disney.......I will be taking part in my very first running race this weekend, and not only is it my first, it is a HALF Marathon! I think it would be AWESOME if I were to get the call that I won this contest on Sunday right as I was running/crawling across the finish line.

Ahhh well. I can dream! At least I will get to be with Mickey for a few days this weekend!

Ok, im sure im freaking out for nothing, but came home today and saw on my caller ID a call from a NY number (not sure why i even think they would call my house!).... Anyways, it was a 212-719-#####. . If any winners received a call, please tell me that wasnt the number or i might cry!

I can't imagine running a half marathon.

If it helps, I am five days away from actually DOING it, and I can't imagine doing it either. Okay, so I HAVE run the distance, but I have issues visualizing me actually crossing the finish line at Disney with all that crazyness.

I didn't receive a call, but Ventura did give us their # for questions. The 212 is right but the rest is not. So don't worry it was probably just a sales call.

Have there only been two people that picked DL that have received paperwork so far? My husband's name was one of the first 5 drawn and we still haven't heard anything since letting them know what park we wanted (DL). I'm wondering if we should start to be concerned or not.
(Patience has never been one of my strongest traits....)

I'm hoping we get a hotel choice (however from a pp, it sounds like we don't?), but I will be thrilled with whatever we get. We've only ever stayed at economy hotels when we've gone, so this will be something new and exciting for us!

I e-mailed them my park choice on February 1 and got the letter today (the 21st), so 20 days. I expect that everyone will be hearing sooner though. They seemed to wait to contact most of us at the same time.

I chose WDW, so hopefully I get my email/letter soon, as I emailed back my choice on February 1st as well. It's just so hard waiting, especially when others are getting the letters!

Actually I had emailed Ventura to make sure and they said they did forward my information and received my park choice but that the contest wasn't over and it can take 6-8 weeks to coordinate everything. So basically I took that to mean be patient lol. Yeah I do have the email and phone number for the WDW contact, so if I don't hear something soon I might contact them and see what's going on.

Oh yeah, I scanned in and returned my form today too. I chose October 6-11th. That's it. If those dates are rejected, they will contact me to pick different dates. Now, do you think I can switch to WDW if my October dates are rejected?

There are some blackout dates that you are not able to select, mostly the major holidays. But other than that you are able to choose which dates you would like. Somewhere around here are a few posts about the exact blackout dates, but good luck finding them as this particular thread moves quickly lol.

Thanks for the response. As long as most of the summer is open I'll be ok (although our district is discussing an extended school year, so who knows what that will mean )
