I see so many posts regarding the "necessity" of checking in early, of getting those specific room requests down at the 7 mos or even 11 mos window, and even faxing the resort just prior to arrival date! And the things folks are having to request -- many of which are things they DON'T want, as opposed to what they DO! (i.e. NON-smoking, NON-handicapped, NO "garbage view", etc.!!)
How much of this is necessary? Does it work? I guess I was always under the assumption that they would "try" to accomodate requests, but once you were assigned within a "block", no amount of faxing would change that (short of the customer getting reallly mad and insisting on a room change). And within that block, I guess I always felt there was really very little difference. Have I been missing the boat? I can't say as how I've ever had a bad room yet....
