Check-in early for special requests at VWL?

Finally taking our first family trip since 11/01! Have reserved a 2 bedroom and a 1 bedroom at VWL for the first week in December. DVC reservationist could not confirm connecting rooms, only request them. Gram and Gramps are in the 1 bedroom and its pretty important that the rooms connect. How early do we need to check-in in order for the connecting rooms to be granted? Any other advice?

There are no 2BRs that will connect to a 1BR. The best you can expect is for them to be nearby. They do have a priority for multiple rooms for requests, but it will all depend on the day of arrival and the occupancy at that specific time. Arrival time may not have any affect on the request.

Do you mean that it's important that the rooms are next to each other? If so, the earlier you get to the hotel the better. In the past when i've had multiple rooms, they have usually done a good job of keeping them near each other. Just make sure the request is noted on your reservation or at least with MS.
