Check in... do you go inside or go in a lane?

I have always gone in while my husband goes to over flow and gets the golf cart out and unhooks the trailer, etc. The reason we did this our first trip was they were backed up at the lanes and the guard sent us inside. We have just done it ever since.

Is it quicker and easier just to go in one of the lanes?:confused3

If you need to leave the golf cart trailer in overflow you sound like you've got a good method going. Either way, inside or outside, you still wait in line. It would depend how many campers in line vs how many cabins checking in.

Usually all your paper work is outside. Especially if you did on-line check in.

We never leave the RV/car. If we are staying longer than a couple days we also bring the car. We live close and don't have a towing package on the RV. I just pull up behind DH and we are checked in outside.

Seems like it to me but it is nice to get others opinions. We are kinda killing two birds with one stone. I haven't had too bad of waits inside.

I haven't done the online check in yet. I've never had them go out to get any of my paperwork??? :confused3 I always thought it was all on the computer and the paperwork was pretty much all the same. Doesn't sound like there is much advantage to online checkin. At least until they have dedicated lines for it.

We don't have towing package on ours yet either. Too much money right now. Maybe when we have more time off to be traveling we might invest in it. Right now we just haul our enclosed trailer with the golf cart inside.

When we pulled up the attendant went to the center building and came back immediately with all our paperwork, KTW etc, and it even had a typed label affixed to the front of the folder. Then all he did was explained the usual "stuff" and we were off. That was the only advantage to "on-line" since we still had to wait in line to get up to the kiosk.

The only time your paperwork is outside is if you do the on-line check in ahead of time.

Just like loveDmouse stated - I always go inside to check in and they have never had to go outside to get my paperwork either. It is all computerized (imagine that) and they just print it out when you register, regardless whether you are inside or outside.

I ALWAYS go inside now. I went through the outside lanes once, and had so much of a hassle, that it was a huge time waster.

For some reason, I always seem to be having some sort of special request on my reservation, and if they have to talk to a manager or something, then they have to go inside.

This last time, we were upgraded to a pet loop from a partial, and had to go inside to make sure everything was correct.

I guess we never end up checking in at "normal" times, so I've never experienced a wait inside.
