Hi All -
Headed off tomorrow for 4 nites offsite and our last 3 at WL. Called today to change ressies because the last 2 nites will be eligible for new AP rates - a savings of $32. CRO explained that I will have to check out after one day - actually go down and have new cards reissued for last 2 days. Also - I had to leave ANOTHER deposit, which will now give me a credit at arrival of $92, since I have left another deposit everytime I've changed ressies...
but THAT was another story..

My question is... anybody ever have this and had a problem with it? I'm sure we will use the credit up in short order at WCC or RF- I'm just questioning whether or not I am putting myself and front desk at huge inconvenience to save the $32!!??

Good news is I got my Chef Mickey PS's exactly as I wanted today - and 10 days ago there was nothing!! Yipeee!!!

Off to WDW!!!!:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

I wouldn't say huge inconvenience -- but we were slightly inconvenienced.

The same thing happened to us last year -- we had to check out and re-check in to the same room (not physically, just on paper). The CM at the front desk didn't even understand why I had to do this, at first, but seemed to figure it out and sent me on my way -- but when I got back to the room, our card keys didn't work. So I had to go back over and stand in line one more time so that a "team" of CMs could figure out how to do it the right way.:D

My suggestion is, that if the CM seems at all unsure, ask that they get a manager's help right off the bat.

Have fun, and use that $32 for something fun! (and I'm sure you'll find a use for the $92!)

We will be doing the check-in/check-back-in thing in June. I have reservations for CBR from 5/31 thru 6/13. I called to see if I could apply the AP rate. They could only do it for the first 9 days. We have to check out on the 9th day and check back in for the remainder. Kind of a pain, but it's saving me $345. Worth it!

We always wind up doing this, and it's really not too bad. Go down to the main desk, and all they really need to do is issue you new room keys, and resort cards. They will also give you a printout of your charges on the room for the first part of the ressie. It has never taken us more than a few minutes at the most. Have fun!

I've had to do this several times. No biggie.

Hey - Thanks you guys - maybe I'll even do a trip report this time!!!!And I'll be WL Vet x2!!!!!:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

At the Polynesian 1 year, when I went down to "get our new cards" they told me we had to change rooms! Cause the room assigner had put a larger family in our LV room and moved us to a "smaller" LV room. Here I am in the Lobby expecting to zip in and out early am and not expecting a "problem" I told him When we checked in our only request was not to change rooms at the "change" cause we really did not want too. And were told "no problem" Well a quick trip to the "back room" and another cm came out and apologized and said it's fixed you don't have to move. So be very clear upon check - in that you have continuing ressie's and do not want to move. Good luck!

Just remember they can make you move if they want to. They did point that out to me. They told me that it was cause the ap discount had a limit of so many days (14) that could be togther and we had 18 so we broke it in 2 ressies to continue the discount price. Not sure if this is still the way the ap discount works but it was a few years ago.

Hi - I did this too and it was kinda funny... no one explained this to me - like you have had it explained..

I had the bill slid under my door and found it in the morning...and then had a phone message from concierge thanking me for staying and reminding me to check out by 11:00am -

Then later a phone message from concierge welcoming me to the resort again.. I was a little confuzzled... but I did not need new keys - they reprogrammed them and they worked fine.
