Check in at Wilderness Lodge

Has anyone ever had a problem leaving their laptop with check in? Meaning it was still in one piece, no one walked off with it etc. We will be getting to the Wilderness Lodge pretty early on our first day so more then likely the room will not be ready. I am thinking that we are going to check in and run off to DTD for the day. So we would be leaving everything with them.

We do have to bring it along for my DH's online classes. I don't want to leave it in the car (we are driving) b/c of the Sept heat.

Any info would be great!

Can you put it in a suitcase? We have stayed at WL and we left our laptop out in plain view during the day while mousekeeping came and it was fine. I understand you are asking about early checkin and leaving all of your bags with bell services, still I would think as long as it was in a suitcase it should be fine, (probably be fine in a laptop bag too!)

You can put your laptop into one of their security boxes, just ask at guest services and they will sign you in on one.

I had mine, we checked in before our room was ready. We hit DTD, came back and bell hop delivered all of our belongings with no issue. I kept laptop in bag when we where not in the room but it was in the closet with no issue throughout our trip

I dropped mine off at bell services, and they delivered it safe and sound when our room was ready.
They forgot 2 suitcases, though.

We left our bags with the bellstaff at WL between the time that we checked out and when our plane left. It was hanging on the cart in my laptop bag and was totally fine when they brought the bags back to load on the Magical Express bus.

We had a split stay in 2007 going from the Cont. to Boardwalk Villas. They have a special room for computer bags (we saw this room on check-in day, and it had extra security for valuable items). The day we were to switch resorts, the person from Bell Services came to our room to get our luggage to have it transfered. We specifically told him about the laptop bag because they had kept it in the special room when we checked in the resort, and because when we checked in they told us to tell them about it when we did the resort transfer.

We never saw the bag (or the over $2000 worth of stuff in it) again!

I'm sure it doesn't happen often, but man did it put a damper on the rest of our vacation. We had to spend hours talking with security, managers, etc. Not to mention our insurance company. Oh, and changing passwords on every account we had since we were afraid that whoever had our computer would figure that info out!

There was also some camera equipment and a few things that we needed for our Disney Cruise that we were going on after WDW (thankfully I didn't have our passports in that bag or we would have missed the cruise!!)

We will never leave anything valuable with bell services again. It will either go in the trunk, or be attached to my husband or myself!

How heavy is your laptop? Can you get a laptop backpack to take with you?

I know from past experiance that both PO and OKW have lockers by the main pools and you could stowe it away there the parks also have lockers as well as DTD . If you leave it in you luggage do not tell anyone that it is in there and lock you bags , bell service will take care of them . We never had any problems . Have a great vacation .
