We are going for our first trip home in January. We will be there for 2 days before BIL meets us and we move to a 2br.....I have heard that they are checking IDs and reservations at the gates to the resorts. How will it work, MS did not ask me for any names, just total number in the room. Should I photocopy our ressies and give him a copy, or can he just tell at the gate who he is staying with? Any ideas how this works? Thanks for any information!!!

There seems to be some issues with this policy. It depends on the resort. Some of the security guards are asking for ID's and some are not. It may be policy but it does not seem to be enforced at all resorts all the time. I have some friends that just went down last week and checked in to two different resorts during the week and were never asked to show ID at the gate. They did have to show ID at the counter to check in.

I would think having a copy of the reservation would save a lot of hassle.

Do you think you just need a photo ID to even get on Wilderness Lodge property, or an ID and a ressie? Are you not able to get into a resorts property without ressies or PS somewhere? Just wondering...................

We had the same experience as Disneyma. Did not need to show ID at check in, but were asked for it everywhere else (driver only). Of course, once we had our room key at BWV, it will open up the gate so there was no checking then.

We did get issued a 3 hour pass at POLY when we went there for Mass on Sunday, but it's kind of a joke because nobody's checking for it when you leave.

I was told in October that the policy now is for security to check photo id's. If they are not that should be reported to Disney. This is certainly not a time to be complacent from a security standpoint. If you have knowledge of them not checking id's you should report this. We must protect our lives as well as our ownership properties.

When we went to OKW at the end of last Sept. I had my Drivers License and reservation letter ready for the guard when I got to the gate. Made everything fast and easy. I would suggest that you make a copy for your BIL and tell him to present it to the guard and have his Drivers License with it.
