Hello.

I am currently planning a 3 week trip around France for next year. We will be staying at the Jablines campsite for 4 nights, and I want to take the kids to Disneyland.

I haven't decided on whether we will get a 2 or 3 day pass but my aim is to set the tent up very sparsely and eat out for the few days we are there, including breakfast out.

Can anyone advise on the cheapest places to eat in and around Disneyland, please. Some theme parks offer a discount if you book in advance etc.. do Disney do this?

I also want to book a character breakfast/dinner as a special treat. Can you do this if not staying in the Disney hotels? Where would you go about booking for this?

Thank you in advance for any help x

The cheapest places to eat at Disney are in Disney village, there is a McDonalds, Earl of Sandwich and Starbucks. Inside the park the cheapest places to eat are listed here http://www.disneylandparis.co.uk/dining/#/€/

There is also a supermarket in Val de Europe, where you can buy food and bring into the park. According to this http://www.disneylandparis.ie/faq/dining/outside-food-beverages/ there is a picnic area between Guest Parking and the entrances to the Disney Parks.

The character meals are listed here http://www.disneylandparis.co.uk/dining/#/character-dining/ and they can be booked over the phone +33 1 60 30 40 50 (French phone number) They take ADR from 60 days out

There are coupons for discounts at Earl of Sandwich and Planet Hollywood. We also went to the grocery store and had breakfast in our room. We went to Salon Mickey in the morning for coffee and muffin snack too.

We brought our water bottles and used flavour powders. You can get ice water at any quick service restaurant.

Annettes breakfast is nice. It's around €11 for a cooked breakfast, plus pancakes & syrup, tea/coffee & orange juice.

It's enough to share.

I'd definitely book if you want to do a character meal to avoid disappointment x

If you like a character meal, you should do Inventions in Disneyland Hotel. You get to see some random characters like Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Chip, Dale, Eeyore, Gepetto, Pinokkio. It's a great buffet with lots of options. The price is around €55 per person I think.
Auberge the Cendrillon in Fantasyland in Disneyland Park is great too, but yet even a bit more pricey and more 'exclusive' foods. Not to everyone's taste. You get to meet princesses though. :)
The cheapest character dining is Café Mickey in Disney Village. You can get more 'simple' food there like soup, pizza's, salads, pasta's, etc. The characters will be quite the same as in Inventions.
Every character dining location needs reservations by the way!

If you'd like to eat in the parks during your visit, you could best do a counter service restaurant. Casey's Corner for example has hot dogs. Other lovely counter service restaurants: Hakuna Matata, Fuente Del Oro, Toad Hall, Colonel Haithi's, Bella Note, Pizza Planet (= all you can eat buffet for a great price, like €17 per adult).
