Can somebody tell me the most inexpensive places to eat at the parks We are a family of 6 and really don't care about any fancy. :teeth: And if there are buffets..how much do those generally cost? popcorn:: TIA :sunny:

I am sure you will find much help at the budget board. If you are having counter service, you can order a double cheeseburger, pay a minimal amount for an extra bun, and easilly have lunch for 2 people. Things like cereal bars and pop-tarts from home may work well for your fam for a fast breakfast, since you may be to excited to get to the parks to be worried about what you are eating anyway.

Carrying snacks from home such as small bags of chips or goldfish crackers, M&Ms and fruit rolls or gummy bears may help you cut down on the cost of extras.

As far as buffets go, I havent been in a long time, but I think the buffets and all you care to eat family style meals are now above $30 per person. Maybe it is in your best interest (if you are staying onsite) to buy the dining plan for your family. It is 1 counterservice meal including a drink and dessert (no dessert for breakfast), a snack or bottle of water or coke, and a table service meal (either an all you can eat, or an ap, entree, bev, and dessert a la cart. This costs about 40 per day, per adult. Less for the kids, I am not sure how much. The thing with the DP is, you either get it for your whole family for the length of your resort stay (must be a WDW resort) or you dont. You cant buy it for some of the fam and not others HTH :wave2:

Well I cannot tell you the cheapest places to eat I can tell you the places that give you alot of food. DH and I share alot of stuff and sometimes we are guilty of ordering off the kids menu for counter service.

At the resorts I get the kids breakfasts, it is very good and just enough food. DH gets an adult size.

For snacks we usually share everything, the bakery items are large enough to share, the popcorn, the turkey legs are huge.

At MK I love the caesar salad from Cosmic Ray's, it is huge!

When you go to allears check out the Trails End Dinner Buffet, from what I heard its very filling and has a great price.. Also Pecos Bills is pretty good at filling at a normal price and we thought Cosmic Rays had pretty good prices and a big variety..Oh and normally the food courts at the resorts have reasonable prices and a good bit of variety.. One of my money saving tips is eatting breakfast in the room by bringing poptarts, cereal, bagels and things...I much rather have lunch and dinner out..

We (as being a family of 7) would always eat at Columbia Harbour House.

With CHH, we would get 1 meal (fish & chips, chicken strips, or a mix) and split between two of us. If we wanted more, we generally got another side of fries.

I have begun to learn that most of the meals can be split between two people. Hamburgers are decent size, pizza can be split. And like I said, you can always get an extra side.

If you go during the summer, you will eat a lot less than you think you will.

One of the biggest things that my sister and I did was *gasp* buy a bottle of Coke or water and refill it with fountain water. As many can tell you, WDW water has an interesting taste. You have to get use to it (my sister and I drank so much one summer, that we came back home and couldn't drink tap water from here, and I'm not kidding you it was in like 98 or something and I didn't get used to drink our tap water til about 2000).

I agree with bringing snacks. I carried granola bars and breakfast bars on me.

Will you have a car? There are a couple places off site that have inexpensive buffets.

One is Sweet Tomatoes and is around $7 for adults (maybe someone else can give exact price. I am not sure.)

Another is CiCis pizza It is all you can eat pizza buffet. I think that is around $5 for the buffet.

You can also order pizza from Papa Johns or Flippers and have it delivered to your hotel room.

Alot of the buffets are character meals so they are not really cheap. The food courts have good prices and the food is pretty good. I think cosmic rays is cheap.

The Earl of Sandwich at Downtown Disney has very good & reasonably priced food for the adults. I love the Jerk Chicken sandwich & DH says they make the best meatball sub he ever ate. If you have picky kids like my sister's kids who don't like to "try" new foods there is a McDonald's nearby where you can pick up food for the kids.

I would pack breakfast foods & snacks for the room from home.

if you're looking for buffet I second trails end... definitely the cheapest buffet in the whole resort.
if you're looking for big enough portion to share, cosmic rays has a rib and chicken plate, tusker house has a HUGE chicken samich and veggie samich. Primetime cafe has a fried chicken plate with 3 pieces of chix big enough to share.

Since you're a family of 6 if you book 2 separate rooms (2 reservations) you can always add the dining plan on 1 room and share between the 6 of you. DP gives so much food that if you all are not big eaters sharing would be enough.
