Should we avoid buying in the parks/resorts and wait until DTD... or the other way around... or are they all the same? Is there one or two stores that are generally better than the rest?

Are there any discount (ha ha) disney stores in WDW?

Thanks in advance!!

ALmost everything in WDW is the same price, for exapmle if you find a t-shirt or stuffed animal you want at magic kingdom it will be the same price anywhere lese on WDW property. I have never been to the discountdisney store(so I can't tell you exactly where they are) but there are some in Orlando just off Disney property.

For those with an AP they wait until they go to World of Disney so they can use their discount.

If you don't have an AP it is the same price.

My experience is that all have the same price but I have been surprised sometimes to find markdowns on certain items at one store and not at others....you just have to shop until the end and comparison shop.. LOLOL

Sometimes I head out to the outlets and hit the discounted Disney store....it is off property but you can get good buys....older stuff, but still Disney.

The Disney outlet store I went to is up the road from DTD on the other side of the highway in Lake Buena Vista. I forget the name of the outlet center, but it's near that giant church and Dolly Parton's place. We've gotten some really great deals in that store over the years. I hear they have better ones in other locations, but I'm not sure where they are. I'm sure someone else will respond with an answer. :)

They also have a "dollar" store at DTD (near the Christmas store) where you can buy surprise items in bags or just general Disney items that are lower priced. They aren't actually reduced prices, they are just items from the Disney area that are on the lower end of pricing. If that makes any sense. LOL

If you have a car, there are several Disney outlet stores in the area. Beside the one mentioned in Lake Buena Vista, there are a few at the north end of International Drive. Name escapes me, but it is a big complex and has character outlets with all kinds of merchandise. It should be shown on any Orlando map, plus someone here should know it. We got shirts and Disney beanie babies there a few years ago.

went to the outlet in the bletz mall ( the big sotre, think at that time there were 2....think that is the correct spelling) and they did have some deals but mostly on outdated stuff, nothing we saw at any shops on property. some had the wdw tag, some did not... got a few t shirts but probably would not hurry back. some stuff was faded ect and just not our idea of a fun way to get something to remember our trip by. maybe to take something home to give to some one who kidn't know it was outdated but don't think i'd spend the time and gas unless i was planning on buying a lot or going to Universal as it was sort of closer to there.

It's the Belz Outlet, and if you want cheap souveniers, it's at the north end of I-Drive. There are a few other places along I Drive that sell things cheaper than on the property. This is where I got Disney Thanksgiving beanies for $2.99. They are really cute-Mickey/Minnie/Pooh/ Eeyore all dressed like Pilgrims and Native Americans.

You need to be careful and go with low expectations, you never know what you'll find. I needed a small souvenier for my son's classmates.
