Probably just a pipe dream-

And rather ironic, since I've just added up the price of our hols to date:eek:

However, not planning any future trips for a while-so figure maybe go big or go home:lmao:

So if we could do as cheaply as possible-
I'm sure kids-big & small would be thrilled.

Any ideas how to go about it?

I read about room upgrade to club class-
Would the food & drinks be available both check-in day,and day after?
What kind of food & drinks are actually available-I'm rather selective:rolleyes1

upgrading to club level would cost about the same amount as buying the Quick Service dining plan for 2 days (1 QS meal, 1 snack, 1 beverage)

staying only 1 night means that you probably won't be using much of the club level perks.
kids would probably be thrilled to have breakfast at Three Broomsticks in IoA, so you'll need to pay for breakfast when it's already included in your club level room.

Somehow, I find it difficult to justify paying for a club level only to take advantage of the food. because it sounds difficult to eat $150 worth of food and drinks in 2 days.
If you have the opportunity to buy some snacks (walmart or hess station) or even use leftover snack credits from a Disney dining plan. That would make it even easier.

try to price all food options for your days at universal, and see if it's worth it

the main issue will then be to know if it's worth it at all to decide to go to universal, getting an expensive room upgrade when all you're really going for is the parks.

I'm a big fan of CL, we've only done Royal Pacific twice and honestly between the four of us to spend $150 on food and drink throughout the day would not be difficult,DH and I do like a few glasses of the red stuff at night ;-) This trip we plan on getting to the resort at 7:30am, check in, head up to the lounge, then hit HP at 8:00. We will be checking out the next day but plan on using all the facilities until late at night, so we can get full VFM. I'm sure on the Universal thread their are pictures and lots of info on CL.

Forgot to say I think you can book through Thomas Cook via Quidco for cash-back. In the past we've booked direct.

I had to ask my dd what VFM was,it's clearly too late for me!:lmao:

I think club level sounds as though we probably would get our monies worth-
Eating over 2 days with only 1 night onsite was what I was considering..

Where do suggest buying tickets?:)

Orlando Attractions Tickets, Undercover Tourist, Travel Republic are all reliable competitive choices :-)

I've stayed all all the Universal Hotels but have never stayed club level.

We're going to book one night in August and I'd be interested in the extras offered with club level and whether its worth the cost.

Good idea to make the most of the facilities for both days.

Worth=subjective.

I think it depends on whether you'll actually utilise the food and drink options available-over 2 days rather than 1 is obviously more worthwhile.
Also, free entry to the gym is available-unsure whether we'll manage that-but can pack trainers-just in case:hyper:

Also, how many are using the facilities-there will be 4 of us-so clearly that's more usage than a couple would have.well, I suppose it depends on how hungry you are!:duck:

I think we'd get there early for breakfast on check in day and have breakfast on check out day, we'd use it in the evening on day 1 but probably not day 2.

There's 3 of us. Is it about $150 extra for one night?

X

We paid in good old British pounds!

I found a standard room for around £170,then decided to go with the club level for around £250-so the maths is around $130-depending on exch rate.

Who did you book with and what hotel did you go for?

Last time we stayed at Royal Pacific and enjoyed it, I've stayed a few times at HRH and once at Portofino Bay x
