I would like to know what are some of the Cheapest off-site places to stay that are not dumps and are still very close to the parks. About 10 years ago I stayed at a place that was called Econo-Lodge Hawaiian resort and it was a dump, but it was only like 24.99 a night thanks.

I've stayed here quite a bit for my 1st night at decent rates - anywhere from $29.95-49.95. Although it's a little old and worn, it's always been clean. Also very close to DTD and the parks.

Just my $.02!! :goodvibes

Although I personally know absolutely nothing about it (someone here might), the Rodeway Inn on International Drive has excellent reviews on Trip Advisor (top quarter of all rated Orlando hotels at #71 - higher than some of Disney's own properties). In fact, its unusually good rating (for a Rodeway) is the only reason I noticed it.

I think its somewhere in the $45 range. The main drawback for you might be that it is not so close to the parks, unless you are including Universal in that criteria.

Check out Priceline. We have done that many times and got a GREAT hotel at a GREAT price! We stayed at the Wyndham by Universal for $40.00 a night.

Tavelodge Suites eastgate orange was very nice for the 40.00 a night we spent. TripAdvisor gives it good reviews we used our AAA discount to get it for the 40 a night over Labor Day weekend. I have seen it for as low as 35.00 a night tho.

If you are going for a week, I would strongly suggest renting a Villa from Skyauction dot com...

It works out to about $50 a night(taxes in) and you get a kitchen to make breakfast and some dinners in. We loved them...I guess it would not work for just a few days though.

They also have some bid per night ones that might work for you.

Until recently I'd have agreed that the Comfort Inn LBV was a great value hotel, indeed I've often recommended it and we've stayed there several times, but on our last trip in June we arrived to the filthiest most worn out hotel room we've ever encountered. Many of the fixtures were broken and the place hadn't been cleaned properly in a long time. There was even a half eaten pizza under the bed!

Front desk and management couldn't have cared less that there were 4 of us in a room with only 2 beds and wouldn't move us to another room. We moved to another resort the next morning and I will never recommend the Comfort Inn LBV again :sad2:

Sorry, but I'd hate for anyone else's vacation to start off like ours did. :sad1:

Another vote for the Travelodge Suites Eastgate. We were there last February for our third visit and are returning Dec 30-Jan11. The rooms are clean, free hi-speed internet, large safe for laptop, improved breakfast and great rates. We are paying $46.71 per night. The staff is very friendly and most have been there a very long time. Indeed some have been there since it opened. The big orange in the front parking lot is a great landmark when returning late at night.

We stayed at Comfort Inn LBV at Xmas, it was a dump.
Just got back from Courtyard by Marriot LBV (across from CI) paid $50/night incl tax.
www.alpharooms.com they are based near me in UK and include tax, usually great prices, used them a lot in past year.

I agree with this completely! We stayed there for one night last year before moving on the the Royal Pacific Resort (at Universal Studios) and it was very clean. DH and I have 2 boys and take our nephew on vacation, so we needed a little extra room, this motel a sofa bed that was much better than most, which made it a definite plus for us! It was a place that we wouldn't have minded staying at for our whole vacation. We will probably stay there for one night next June.
