Cheapest non-ME airport transportation?

My family is planning a 12-day trip to the World, and lucky for us, the kids' godmother can join us for part of the trip. We'll be staying at Windsor Hills. While we'll have a car, we'd really rather not lose ~3 hours of our park days to pick her up and return her to the airport. We'll be at either BB or TL on her arrival day, and we can probably drop her at DTD on her departure day. Would she be able to take a bus or a shared cab ride from the airport to somewhere in DTD on arrival day, and then catch a ride back to the airport from there? We really need to make this as cheap as we can. Any idea what the general price is for shared ride service from the DTD area?

Thanks everyone!

The cheapest would probably be by Mears Transportation. It's about $33 round trip but you'll have to make sure that Mears goes to your complex.

Will someone be home to get her into the house? Or would you expect her to wander around DTD with her bags?

I don't know ... it seems to be with 12 days you can take the time to run to the airport to get her and drop her off. You'll have plenty of time in the parks.

Actually, it's only 2 hrs out of your 12 day trip....30 mins each way. She can go outside to meet you at the airport..no need to even get out of the car. That gives you an addtl hour to spend in the parks.

Thanks for the information folks! The godmother lives in Chicago and is well-versed in public transportation. She would only have carryon luggage, so it wouldn't be hard to haul that on a bus.

As others have mentioned, it's not *that* much time to spend to go pick her up. However, she's likely arriving/departing on our only water park days. DH isn't much of a water park fan, so he may still ferry her back and forth to the airport. It just depends on the flight times she gets.

If she does end up with the money to be able to use something like Mears, yes, absolutely she'd be able to get in the condo without us there. The place where we're staying uses the punch code locks, so we'd just give her the code to get in while we're gone.

Yep! Not advisable if you've got more than a carry-on - since WDW buses don't allow "real" luggage - and if you don't like Disney's bus transportation, you're not gonna like true public transit :lmao: but yeah, it's cheap! It makes several stops, including Florida Mall and at/near a hotel that starts with a "C", I think.
