Was searching for some party supplies and I came across this:

http://virginiatoy.com/catalog/prod...id=16&osCsid=925ccea4a100aaafd41cb0029d6d058c

50 red/white/blue candy striped glow sticks that are designed to be hung from a lanyard as a necklace (comes with the lanyards) for $3.50!!!

The company states it is because the white inner glow was not as bright as they expected and these only work really well in a really dark place. So, my question for the seasoned Disney traveler would be....is it really dark at the parades when the kids would want these? I'll hand them out to every kid in sight if you think they'll work for Disney. :)

Has anyone used this company before?

- they have others dirt cheap, too. (click on closeouts) They are honest about why some are so cheap - one was glowsticks near their expiration date and they were up-front about the fact the half of them probably wouldn't work, but it was only 4.00 for 48 of them. I have about the same success rate at the dollar store and this is way cheaper.

I just go to the local Ocean State Job Lot and purchase them for .99. You can get them at Wal Mart for around 1.99 I think.

:)

I ordered 50 Halloween glow stick bracelets (purple and green) for $29 from Oriental Trading. We will use them for MNSSHP, save the rest for next year.

Just today I picked up some tubes of glow sticks at Dollar Tree...15 bracelet-sized sticks (assorted colors) with connectors for $1. I think it takes three to make a necklace, or just one for a bracelet. They also had packages of three glow glasses for $1.

run a search on ebay.

We recently purchased 1000 glow sticks for $38 delivered.

We use them for many reasons, but there is nothing like being able to share them with other children. My son loves being able to share them wherever we go (parades, camping etc)

Hi, I got mine off ebay too it was 500 bracelets and connectors shipped from CA to CT for 40.00. We decided we would use them for the parades and all the night events and even spread a little "pixie dust" to the children waiting for the parade. The ebay name I got mine from was "Glow Granny" great communication and super fast shipping. I would recommend this seller on Ebay.

I think I love glow sticks as much as I love the Dollar Tree and Dollar General! Hopefully a dollar store near me with have glow sticks or glow necklaces so I can stock up for Halloween!

Just fyi...we were at WDW a couple weeks ago and now, instead of glow necklaces, they are selling light up necklaces that run on watch batteris and have different colors and flash patterns. Since these are reusable on future trips, we bought several since they were only $3 each.

We got some of those bracelets and necklaces at Target in the Halloween stuff, there is a button to turn it on or off and they flash or stay solid. This will be the third trip we will be using the same ones! We're leaving in 3 hours so what am I doing on the computer??? :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

we bought some of those blinking necklaces too!! they are soooo much fun, the kids went crazy over them. when i first saw people wearing them, i thought oh my, wonder how much they are. DH went over to get me one as a surprise, not willing to pay more than $10 for one as a special treat. When they were only $3, we called the disney bargain!!!! its so nice to be able to turn them on and off. my 13 year old cousin wore hers as a belt!!! looked great and was easy to find all the kids with them on!! so much fun, gotta have one if you dont!!!
:cool1:

We always stock up at the Dollar Tree or Deals on all kinds of glow things. It's so much fun to let our kids pass them out to the "new friends" they make while waiting for the fireworks or Fantasmic!!!! :cool1:

The Target by my house has all kinds of "glow" items in their $1 section right now. They have necklaces, bracelets, earrings, rings, regular glow sticks, and all sorts of things....they're with the Halloween items and all just $1 !!!

I bought a bunch for my boyfriend and I because we like to wear all kinds of them when we go out at night...it is fun!
