One way any time, any day in the next few weeks. I've looked and most are over $1300. I did find Swiss Air for $626. You guys are good at deals. Help. I would be forever grateful, and you would be responsible for reuniting 2 very much in love people after 20 months apart.:thumbsup2

Did you try Hotwire.com? If you're flexible on the times of day you fly, you can sometimes find great deals. The basic premise is that you say what days you want to fly from one city to another (and how many stops) and then they show you various itineraries with prices. You buy the flight and then you find out the time of day the flight is after purchase.

It sounds random, but the site is totally legitimate, and you can get some GREAT deals. I also really like travelzoo.com for hotel deals, if it helps. You can subscribe to their e-mails.

Good luck,
Angie

Assuming the traveler is legal to stay in the US after arrival, then just book it as a round trip and throw away the return ticket. Seriously, it's cheaper!

Checked on Travelocity.com for a departure Tuesday Sept 7 and return Tuesday Sept 21. Fares start from US$651 connecting through Philly or just US$665 non stop MAD to MIA. Maybe other dates would come out a bit cheaper.

Pick a Tuesday, Wednesday, or Saturday to get the best fare. Often one way tickets cost more than a round trip.

Thanks for the input. Looks like Swiss Air is the way we are going to have to go unless he decides he needs round trip...sigh. And yes he is a US citizen. I was hoping to get a one way for around $500. Oh well.
