Cheapest days to travel?

I'm thinking of booking for 26/08 thru 02/09 but am wondering about my travel days.

I'm holding out for a Ding or cheap Air Tran fare (BUF to MCO). I know it's usually better to travel Tues-Thurs, but it doesn't look like that's going to be an option. So, my question is: is it more likely to get a cheap flight on a Sat, Sun or the Labour Day Monday?

Sunday is one of the most expensive dates for travel. You'd be better off with Saturdays or Mondays over Sundays. So, if you can play with your dates a little, do it to avoid Sunday.

Also, hang on...lower airfares for August should be coming soon! Last June I booked $59 each way fares on SW from BUF to MCO. Then I kept getting DINGS from SW and my final fare was $44 each way, for a total of $103 per person TOTAL for last September. I also remember that August fares were just as good.

SW hasn't released dates past 8/24 yet. Keep an eye out for those.

We flew Airtran this past March for $136 total, round trip, per person. I booked those flights 24 days before we flew. So, there are deals to be had if you are patient.

Right now, airtran is showing $203 rt pp for my dates in September. I'm waiting to book.

I'm specifically thinking about the labour day weekend. I want to book as soon as the free dining promo comes out, but want to hold off on buying air until later (for the reasons you mentioned). So you think I'd be better off booking my return leg for the holiday Monday instead of the Sunday?
